All procedures are performed at Kelowna General Hospital. A full gastroenterology consultation is completed before any endoscopic procedure.

Before Your Procedure

Pre-Admission Call: A licensed nurse from KGH will call you to complete your pre-admission form. Please have all your medications available and be ready to provide details about your medical history.

Notification: You will receive a reminder one week before your scheduled procedure via your preferred contact method (email, phone, or text).

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel your procedure, please call the KGH booking office at 250-862-4329 as soon as possible, or reply to your reminder text message. Cancellations help us serve other patients on our waitlist.

After You Receive Your Referral

Once your referring doctor has referred you to us, you will receive a note from our office about an estimated timeframe for when you will be seen. This timeframe is based on the urgency of the appointment and current treatment care guidelines.

Important: This is NOT a confirmation of your appointment date or time.

Confirm Your Information

It is very important you confirm the following demographics on the letter and call our office at 250-763-6433 to make any appropriate changes:

• Patient Name
• Date of Birth
• Phone Number
• Alternate Number
• Family Doctor

Complete Lab Work

Please complete any lab work requested by your family doctor, referring doctor, nurse practitioner, or our office as soon as possible prior to your appointment. The results may impact how soon you will be seen.

Appointment Type

Office Consult: The Kelowna Gastroenterology Associates office will contact you to schedule an appointment. Information regarding office location and parking will be given at the time of booking.

Endoscopic Procedure: If an endoscopic procedure is scheduled, the Kelowna General Hospital GI booking office will contact you. All procedures are performed at Kelowna General Hospital.

Appointment Reminders

You will receive a reminder by your preferred method of contact (email, phone call, or text message):

• Office Appointments: 36 hours prior to your scheduled appointment
• Procedures: One week prior to your scheduled procedure

No-Show Policy

We have instituted a no-show policy to avoid missing appointments and unnecessary prolongation of our waitlist.

Cancellation: You can cancel when you receive the reminder text message, when our office calls you, or by calling 250-763-6433.

Fee: Unless it is a reasonable emergency, patients who fail to attend a scheduled appointment will be charged $100 CAD to have it rebooked. We also won't be able to guarantee your position on the waitlist.
